With Christmas and the New year out of the way Rick, Sam, Tom and I met for a doubles match - 750 points each.
Rick took his trusted Harad led by The Knight of Umbar, I took a morannon army led by Gothmog and Fellbeast.
Sam took his infamous Dwarves led by Thorin and Galadriel (and Alfrid), Tom a mix of wizards (Gandalf the White mounted and Radagast on Sledge), boromir and even some eagles.
Tom rolled to see what we would play... Lords of Battle.

| The shade jumps the hedge and heads towards the centre, he will be needed in battle there, the orcs follow |

| While the rest of the Morannon orcs move behind cover away form the archers |

| Rick withdraws half his force and prepares the rest to charge |
 |
| The dwarves are on both sides of the Harad army |
 |
| Galadriel casts strengthen will and Alfrid dishes out might to Sam's hero's |
 |
| The wraith casts back and the armies look on |
 |
| Gandalf casts a blast on the orc, knocking Gothmog off of his warg |
 |
| Gandalf rides back behind the archers and hides |
 |
| Radagast has to expend might to jump the wall, having just rolled a 1 |
 |
| Harad spread out to prevent the eagle from landing in the middle |
 |
| While the rest of his army, and my fell beast charge in to the dwarves |
 |
| Both sides edge forward |
 |
| Now the eagle moves in, finding a space to land |
 |
| and the dwarves charge the Harad line |
 |
| The Dale Captain, bravely jumps the hedge straight in to the two morannon orcs, he is now cornered |
 |
| My orcs charge the second eagle! |
 |
| And promptly kill it! |
 |
| Harad and the Dwarves are fighting intensly with everything they have |
 |
| The shade moves in to support harad |
 |
| The Dale archers move up... slowly |
 |
| Again the lines clash |
 |
| And my fell beast takes a wound! |
 |
| Radagast charged an orc, so the rest decide to trap and swamp his sled |
 |
| meanwhile the fighting is intense |
 |
| but, the dwarves just dont want to die |
 |
| the eagle against harad |
 |
| but the orcs are no match for Radagast and he knocks them all to the floor |
 |
| The shade moves up, she is now in range of Thorin |
 |
| BUT... Galadriel casts dispell and kills of the spirit, the shade is removed |
 |
| more Dale jump the hedge and join the fight |
 |
| Rick re-charges the eagle... this thing just wont die! |
 |
| Things aren't looking good for Harad |
 |
| Morannon Orcs join in the fight against Thorin |
 |
| The fellbeast strikes from behind |
 |
| But Dale gain the upper hand on the orcs |
 |
| Orcs charge in everywhere, but just can't win a fight! |
 |
| Gandalf blasts the Shaman, intent on removing my fury, but the orc is just knocked over |
 |
| Boromir is swamped by orcs, but his fight value is winning the day |
 |
| The eagle still fights back the Harad horde |
 |
| And the Dale Captain eyes up Gothmog |
 |
| DIE EAGLE... or not, Harad struggle to win the fight and wound the eagle |
 |
| The eagle hurls a warrior into the Hasharin anf task Master |
 |
| And the fellbeast follows suit, knocking dwarves over |
 |
| The Harad are stretched thin |
 |
| The dwarves push forward |
 |
| Boromir wins again and slays orcs all around |
 |
| Now the orcs are running low |
 |
| The fellbeast has a last ditched effort to kill Thorin |
 |
| The dwarves flank is in tatters as Harad start to gain |
 |
| The eagle continues to hold |
 |
| The Orcs reform centre and brace for the onslaught |
 |
| Everything the evill army has is now trying desperately to pull the battle back |
 |
| But it seems too little too late, as even Galadriel dishes out death |
 |
| My fell beast is charged by Thorin |
 |
| Gothmog is charged by Dale Captain |
 |
| There is a stale mate between Thorin and the Fellbeast |
 |
| But Galadriel clears the Harad helps tip the balance |
 |
| The eagle, seemingly bored, leaves this side of the battle and moves to take on the orcs |
 |
| Dwalin stand firm |
 |
| And kills Harad with ease |
 |
| My orcs sneakily kill Alfrid, who was hiding behind a hedge |
 |
| Gothmog jumps head first into Boromir |
 |
| The eagle takes on the shaman, still trying to rid the fury |
 |
| This time he is successful and kills the orc, gone is my courage and saves! |
 |
| Gandalf now rides in to help Boromir clear up the orcs |
 |
| Now Dawlin is surrounded and is slain by Harad, too light too late |
 |
| Harad finally take the Dwarf flank |
 |
| But the armies of evil are broken and run too fast to catch. |
Final Thoughts
This was a tough battle, against a tough army. But it was a well deserved win for Sam and Tom.
Man of the match or WOMAN of the match has to go to Galadriel Lady of Light, She was awsome. Her spells allowed extra rolls to save against the wraith attacks and she was able to blast the shade straight off of the field. Her high fight value, meant she could stand up to everything we threw at her, and she deserves the accolade of Woman of the Match.
