Each faction will each start with 4 regions: a Capital city, a major city and two additional regions.
The more regions an army conquers, the more points they can use to build the armies and garrisons to field in battle, or to defend the regions and cities across Middle Earth.
Additionally each region will have a value, with cities and capital having bonus points to make them worth more.
Please note that the black lines on mountain ranges indicate that this is impassable and an alternative route needs to be taken. This can offer both security from attack and defense.
